Are you considering the idea of enhancing a recreational area with a state-of-the-art pickleball court?

If you have enough space, building a pickleball court in your backyard can add value and appeal to any property, offering lots of fun and exercise for your friends and family.

With precise measurements and thorough preparation, it is absolutely possible to turn your backyard into a stunning pickleball court. And we are here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring a seamless transformation from start to finish.

Ensure a professional and secure playing experience for players of all skill levels by meticulously following the court specifications detailed in the USA Pickleball Official Rule book and applying Alpha Grip Anti-Slip Paint to enhance traction and stability.

Using Alpha Grip anti-slip paint is crucial for your pickleball court because it enhances player safety by minimizing the risk of slipping. It creates a strong surface for frequent use, keeping your court in good condition for a long time.

Our client made a video showing the steps to build a pickleball court using Alpha Grip Non-Slip Paint:

Step 1: Construction of the concrete pad, providing a solid foundation that stands the test of time.

Step 2: Diligent preparation of the concrete, ensuring a flawless canvas for the forthcoming artistic touch.

Step 3: Application of Alpha Grip to enhance the surface's durability and slip resistance.

It is crucial to establish solid foundation with proper drainage, here with few recommendations for this phase:

  • Install a vapor barrier of at least 10 mm thickness.
  • To avoid potential cracking and enhance the longevity of your concrete incorporate reinforcement mesh or rebar
  • Let the concrete here for a minimum of 28 days

Etching is an important step in preparing concrete for painting. It is a deep cleaning process that helps maximize the bond between paint and the surface of the concrete.

It is essential to carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions in this step to ensure optimal results. Keep in mind that drying time may vary depending on the humidity levels in your area. For the best adhesion and results that will stand the test of time, it is highly recommended to wait for a period of 3 to 4 days before applying the Alpha Grip paint to surfaces that have been freshly etched.

Now you are ready to measure out a precise 44 by 20-foot rectangle for the playing area. Once you have taken the measurements, proceed to carefully apply tape around the perimeter. This will mark the boundaries of your playing surface. Once the perimeter of the court is taped, begin by painting the interior playing area.

Using the standard and official pickleball court dimensions, we can calculate the estimated gallons needed to paint a full court:

  •  2 gallon of Alpha Grip White
  •  8 gallon of Alpha Grip Pickleball Blue
  •  4 gallon  Alpha Grip Safety Blue

The standard pickleball court measures 20 feet wide and 44 feet long, with a total playing area of 30 feet by 60 feet.

The boundary lines should be two inches wide and preferably in a contrasting color to the playing surface.

Pickleball courts are typically painted using a combination of blue and green colors to delineate the playing area.

At SlipDoctors, we offer Alpha Grip in Pickleball Blue, Safety Blue, and White for the court lines. Alpha Grip is a non-toxic, easy-to-apply and maintain product. It provides excellent traction and safety for your pickleball court surface.

Wait 4 hours after applying the first coat before applying the second coat

Once you have finished coating the playing area, proceed to mark out the lines. Choose the alpha grip white for consistent and high-quality grip across the entire court, providing reliable traction on all the lines.

The next task after completing the court surface coverage and line painting is to paint the exterior play area.

To guarantee optimal contrast and visibility, choosing a vibrant color for the pickleball court is essential. It directly impacts the court's contrasting elements, ball visibility, and overall visual appeal.

Some clients have chosen the Alpha Grip in light gray, while others have opted for the tennis court green.

It's time to transform your backyard and start experiencing the excitement of playing pickleball right in the comfort of your own home!
